What a gorgeous book! Really one to keep, and would make a wonderful gift for most ages.
Detailed illustrations and facts/info a-plenty make it appealing, informative and educational for older readers while younger readers and pre-readers will get loads from the pictures and the many, many flaps.
I even learned a thing or two - incredible how many words and sayings Shakespeare invented that we now use daily!
A lovely book.

My six year old was delighted with this book. The See Inside Usborne Series books are all excellent: informative, interactive, fun and visually appealing. This particular one looks not just at Shakepeare's plays (broken down into comedies, tragic tales, histories) but also takes time to explore where he lived and worked, the different areas to the Globe theatre and playhouses and royal performances. My son in particular enjoyed lifting the flaps and finding out more about the playhouses during Shakespeare's time. He liked the idea of a real cannon being fired during performances and the roof with a trapdoor for 'ghosts'. Fantastic book.

This book is amazing. I read it with my 6 year old and he absolutely loved it. There are so many amazing facts inside. Each double page has a focus such as 'Backstage' or 'Shakespeare's London' and there are many different facts and details about each title. There are lift the flap sections on each page to delve further into the details about each topic. The illustrations are so clear and extremely detailed that you feel you really are in Shakespeare's world. As well as giving details about the life of Shakespeare there are also pages dedicated to the works of Shakespeare. These are broken down into 'Tragic Tales' and 'Comedies'. The language is detailed but not to hard for young readers to be able to read and interact with the book on their own. However the amazing amount of detail makes it a great conversation starter and we chatted about Shakespeare for ages. This is an amazing learning tool and would make a great present for young readers and inquisitive minds.

This book is a mind pleaser which is suitable for all ages. It is full of facts about Shakespeare's world and life, where his plays were performed and short paragraphs about his plays. It really opened my eyes! I liked the backstage page where  you really could get an insight into what it was like. I didn't imagine it was like that, I couldn't believe a cannon would be fired during battle scenes "BOOM"

The 'See Inside' series are excellent. The images and flaps appeal to children of all ages. I was impressed with this one as it easily made Shakespeare interesting to children. The short summaries of his plays are excellent and even led my son to want to find out more about the plots!

I loved this book. Each page has zillions of flaps to open. They are all really fascinating and include Shakespeare's London, At the playhouse, backstage, royal performance, traffic tales and comedies.
You find out about the playhouse and behind the scenes as well as plays performed for royalty.
All the pages have a nice mix of pictures and loads of information.
I have a few of this type of book and all of them are good.
