In  the sixth book in Stephan Pastis's New York Times bestselling series, Timmy is being  threatened and must rely on his new partner to solve the mystery - and  possibly save his life!

Everyone's favourite best worst detective is back in Timmy Failure: The Cat Stole My Pants, the sixth book in the bestselling series that's perfect for fans of Wimpy Kid and Tom Gates

Timmy  is in Key West, Florida, ostensibly for the honeymoon of his mother and  Doorman Dave -   if they even got married, which Timmy doubts.  Unfortunately for Timmy, crime doesn't take a holiday. And because  Total has fled to Cuba, Timmy must rely on a  new partner for help: Doorman Dave's nephew Emilio. Meanwhile, a  surprise newcomer shows up in Timmy's life and, as if things couldn't  get more hectic, Timmy's pants have been stolen by a six-toed cat.

I really enjoyed this story although it is very weird. It is an easy book to read as there are lots of pictures and the text is very clear.

I found it very difficult to explain to my mum what actually happens in the story.

Mum - Josh read this story very quickly but I'm not convinced that he fully understood the story.  There are a lot of americanisms, even the title 'the cat stole my pants'. I think we will reread this together so that I can explain the storyline!

This is the BEST Timmy Failure book yet! You will laugh out loud and not be able to talk as you laugh so much. Its a very easy book to read filled with illustrations that will make you smile and laugh. My favourite chapters were 43 and 44, there is a riddle in these chapters and it is so funny!!!  Timmy is one again my favourite character, he is a fun, cool detective.

In book six of the best-selling Timmy Failure series, Timmy's supposed to be relaxing on vacation. But getting away from it all doesn't apply to his investigation business, Total Failure, Inc. Mystery, danger and a six-toed cat linger around every corner of Key West, Florida. Together with his unpaid intern, Timmy must solve the case (and finish a book report) all while trying to figure out why his mother thinks she's on a honeymoon with Doorman Dave. After deciding the only way to survive a tour of Hemingway's house is to remove his pants, Timmy discovers strange warnings addressed to none other than himself. But who's sending them and why? With his trusted business partner Total, a six hundred pound polar bear, having fled to Cuba, Timmy has to rely on his not-so-reliable new assistant (and his mother's new husband's nephew), Emilio. It's one drama after another as this hilarious detective creates more problems than he solves right up until a surprising -- and surprisingly warm-hearted -- conclusion.

The laugh-out-loud humour begins on page one and it doesn't let up. Timmy is a lovable, imaginative and over-confident child who can't help but cause chaos. It's his absolutely assured, but completely unfounded, viewpoint that makes his character irresistible. He believes in himself so strongly, as so many children do, that he can't figure out why no one else understands his point of view. His banter with adults is cringe worthy but very, very funny. From the chapter titles to dozens of sketches throughout, this book is packed with hilarious moments and the crazy antics of a boy detective with plans for total world domination. Highly recommended.

I think this my faverioute book I have ever read.  I have read most of the series but you only have to read the first one to get this one the 6th book in the series.  I like this book because it is hilarious and it is about detectives and I'm a little bit of one myself.  This book is set in key west, Florida and is different to the other ones.  The mysteries are unexpected and this author is just utterly the best.

Timmy failure what has he done now!

While on holiday in key west ,Timmy befriends his relative Emilio in order to conduct some detective work. Which  may  add includes A DEATH THREAT! Along the way his former work partner ( Total the Polar Bear) flees to Cuba, he meets his Dad and conducts some extra investigations with his hilarious bad detective skills.

I really enjoyed this sixth book in the series and found it easy to read with the best of funny moments and lovely illustrations. My favourite character was Emilio because of his fun obsession with everything that Timmy hates. All in all I found this book truly amusing and another great instalment of Timmy's adventures

I've read all the Timmy Failure books. The last one was a bit disappointing but this one is much better. It's funny and if you're a fan of the series, you'll definitely enjoy it. There are some laugh out loud bits and a surprise character too!

I was intrigued to see what this book would be like compared to Diary of a wimpy kid, which my daughter is currently obsessed with. I'm afraid to say the only way I can describe this book is 'odd'. It's packed with American references, (fair enough as the author is American), but in turn this does makes it a little inaccessible for a child.  The storyline jumps quite a bit, and although the pages look simple, full of cartoons and not much writing, the actual words to read are definitely for kids aged 9-10.  So, this is why it's odd....it looks like it should be read by younger kids, but the story is quite tricky to follow & doesn't really get to the point, and it took me under an hour to read its 265 pages, so you can imagine there's not much writing on any page!
I've passed it to my daughter to see if it compares to Diary of a wimpy kid, and she's excited to read a new author, but I'm wondering how she'll get on with it!
It's an ok book, but not for me this time! It would probably suit a boy or girl aged 8-11 who like Diary of a wimpy kid style books.
