I like it because it is funny and Danny and his dad beat the nasty local land owner.

I have a few Roald Dahl books and enjoyed those, so I expected to enjoy this, but this was one of my favourites I have read.. Danny and his father live in a Caravan site, and Danny thinks his dad is the best dad out there. He finds out a secret his dad has; that he poaches pheasants from Mr Hazell. Of course Danny wants to be involved, so they come up with a marvellous plan to poach all the peasants. I spoke to my mom about people taking things from others that aren't there's. We can't really do that, but in a book is fine, as it's not real. So through reading the book, we could talk about different things. It was a really funny book I liked the relationship Danny had with his dad. Was very exciting in places and I didn't want to stop reading it

this is a fantastic book, we have read the whole roald dahl series and this id definitely a favourite in our house.some of the books seemed to take ages to get through but sometimes we would be so intrested to see what happened next we would read two chapters!! i think ben enjoyed it more as its more aimed at boys than some of the other books. i loved the close relationship between danny and his dad and it also shows no matter how well you think you know someone there may always be little secrets that you dont know about. our best bit was danny rescuing his dad, thats all i will say as i dont want to go into the story but its well worth a read xx
