Discover the skills it takes to become a scientist in DK's new science book for kids with science presenter and comedian Steve Mould . Being a scientist isn't just about wearing a lab coat and performing science experiments in test tubes. It's about looking at the world and trying to figure out how it works. As well as simple science experiments for kids to try, How to Be a Scientist will teach them how to think like a scientist and ask questions including: why doesn't pineapple jelly set, how do you grow your own crystals, and how does a black and white image turn to colour? For every scientific concept the child learns they will be encouraged to find new ways to test it further. Fun questions, science games, and real-life scenarios make science relevant to children. In How to be a Scientist the emphasis is on inspiring kids, which means less time spent in stuffy labs and more time in the real world!

This is a really superb book!. It is aimed at the children but, quite frankly, any adult would find this interesting.

It's a fascinating introduction into science. My daughter loves the part about women scientists like Mary Anning (about whom she has learnt at shool:)) and Marie Carie (you can imagine how excited she was when she read that she was from Poland as well!). She admires them cause they have faced barriers but they overcame the obstacles put before them.

How to be a Scientist is beautifully presented and illustrated book which is packed with interesting and inspiring facts and projects. My daughter's favourite one was the activity with cleaning coins.

We have got the answers to so many brilliant questions.
This book strikes a nice balance between information, illustrations and explanations.

I think it's remarkable book - one of the best we've had so far about science.
It's a hardback book with 144 pages of really good quality paper so it can be a great birthday present.
Obviously the author believes that knowledge should be accesible and this book is a proof.

I love this to book because its colourful and easy read. It has lots of pictures in it and its split up into 6 parts, my favourite is Space.

There are lots of different experiments linked to the themes with things that you can collect at home and not spend too much money on. My Mum says that's good:)

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Science but doesn't want to do too much reading
