Callum Hunt has been told his whole life that being a magician is the worst thing that could ever happen to him and that magic would kill him. When the magic school Magisterium requires he takes the entry test to become a magician, Callum purposely fails, but he still gets in. 

Throughout the series, we will see Callum attend each year of the Magisterium, making friends, learning how magic and his powers work, meeting giant lizards, getting a pet wolf and discovering how good and evil are not always so clear, as with heroes and villains.

If you love Cassandra Clare, your next read has to be one of the series in the Shadowhunters Chronicles, The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, The Bane Chronicles, The Dark Artifices, or The Last Hours series.
