This funny, easy-to-read, illustrated middle grade book is, quite literally, EXPLOSIVE! It has sweets, troublesome monsters and a bakery run by a ten year old. You really can't ask for anything tastier.

Ten-year-old Grace and her sister Danni run their very own bakery, the Cake Hunters, after their parents have mysteriously gone missing. The only thing is this is no ordinary bakery, and Grace comes from a long line of hunters that discover all monsters that love to wreak havoc and eat all the sweets they can find. Grace's secret weapon? Her very own baked goods! Don't tell the bad-breathed monsters about the secret exploding baking powder inside the doughnuts and the cookies... Over the two years they've been running their shop on their own, Grace and Danni have come up with an impressive list of all monsters' favourite (explosive) cakes!

Everything Grace uses to catch the monsters:
1. A sketch book and pencil
2. A large pot of baking powder
3. Camera
4. A bag with baked goods (cookies, ginger nuts, muffins, etc)
5. Catapult!

It all should be quick, effortless and easy. That is until Grace's trusty Monster Scanning Machine alerts her to the doughnut-loving, people-eating, board-game-playing cyclops Mr Harris, who will actually become a handy and unlikely partner in crime! The two go through perilous missions from the Secret Service together, but Grace will have to keep Mr Harris from eating the monsters and hone his advanced patisserie skills...
