'A true genius . . . Roald Dahl is my hero' - David Walliams

Roald Dahl is the world's NUMBER ONE storyteller- the perfect author for every young reader's library!

George Kranky's Grandma is a miserable grouch. George really hates that horrid old witchy woman.
One Saturday morning, George is in charge of giving Grandma her medicine.
So-ho! Ah-ha! Ho-hum! George knows exactly what to do.
A magic medicine* it will be. One that will either cure her completely . . . or blow off the top of her head.

*WARNING: Do not try to make George's Marvellous Medicine yourselves at home. It could be dangerous.

Now you can listen to GEORGE'S MARVELLOUS MEDICINE and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry - plus there are added squelchy soundeffects from Pinewood Studios!

And look out for new Roald Dahl apps in the App store and Google Play- including the disgusting TWIT OR MISS! and HOUSE OF TWITS inspired by the revolting Twits.

My 4 year old absolutely adored this story from start to finish. He giggled and squealed all the way through.
It was so enjoyable for me to read (again) and to hear his excitement matching mine for this wonderful author!! He couldn't wait for bedtime each night to hear a little more and we read it easily in 3 or 4 days. I have and always will recommend Roald Dahl.

This was a favourite book of mine when I was a child and is now a favourite of my daughters too. We love the way that Roald Dahl describes all of the weird and wonderful ingredients that go into the medicine and we find the book very funny.

This is a hilarious book. I thought it was very funny what happened to the chickens after they had some of George's medicine. It is not something that you see everyday. George is very smart. The Grandma got the ending that she deserves. The illustrations are very funny, especially of the animals and Grandma.

I liked doing the quizz at the back of the book. I got all the answers right. I would recommend this book.

This is a firm favourite.  Not a month goes by where it's not mentioned and begged for.  WARNING:  May lead to children creating their own version after reading...I know I did as a child!

We unexpectedly won a family ticket to see a production of this in Birmingham in December last year. We have been wanting to read the book since and it didn't disappoint. The boys were delighted with all the ingredients in the magic medicine and they loved the giant chicken and giant grandma! The illustrations and creative language kept them spellbound from the first page until the last! They are loving the Roald Dahl collection at the moment!

We enjoyed this book so much and couldn' put it down! Everynight my daughter would say just one more chapter...3 chapters later we would have to reluctantly put it down but were excited to pick it back up the following night! George pulls you in on his funny journey to give his grandma his homemade medicine! It's filled with laughter and fun! Wondering what will happen to grandma next. A family must read... even grandma will love it!

This was a very funny story because of the effects the medicine has. Also, it has very funny pictures and great poetry. We didn't like George's mum because she is a bit boring.

Mr Kranky, George's dad, is a very giddy, hyper character who LOVES George's marvellous medicine. We loved reading about Mr Kranky.

The illustrations are funny and show what is happening but they are in black and white.

This book had us laughing like a class full of Mr and Mrs Giggles. We really enjoyed it.

I love this book - it is my all time favourite Roald Dahl book. George is your typical mischievous boy who thinks his grandma is really mean and grump so he decides to create a yucky potion for her to get his own back! cue lots of kitchen mayhem and in Roald Dahls own witty way some perfectly funny humour - this is a fantastic book for all ages and is one that will definately be read again and again.

You really can't beat Roald Dahl for entertaining stories that really tap into a child's imagination. I loved this as a child and decided it was time to introduce my sons to it-one chapter per night (though they did beg for more usually!) The grandma character is hideous, and you can't help be on George's side as he concocts his medicine-though as an adult I was also slightly appalled, and underlined to the children what is also says at the front of the book-DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! Not a very long read, but a story that lingers in the imagination long after.

It was good because George made a medicine that made his Grandma grow and break through the roof of his house.  It was really funny.  I think children from age 5 should read it.

This is my favourite Roald Dahl book. This is a story about a mean gran and her grandson. The mean gran lives with her grandson George and his family, she doesn't treat them very nice at all. One day George has had enough and decides to make her some marvellous medicine and strange things happen. Roald Dahl tells a very funny story and I really like the words he uses and how he describes things. My Mum got me this book for my birthday and I have already read it 3 times now. Anyone aged 8 and over will like this book a lot.

I loved this book as a child ans enjoyed reading it with my 4 yr old.  We talked about why you shouldn't make medicine like George does in the book, and he's never tried to.  But he enjoyed all the funniness and mummy doing silly voices for grandma!

This engaged my son & was right up his street. It was funny & a bit gross which he loved. The illustrations are great. It has short chapters and isn't too long so great when you are just moving on from picture books. It was a little bit beyond his reading level but he was happy to read it again himself after we read it together (I always think a book must be good if you want to read it twice!!). We will definitely be looking out some other Roald Dahl books as we enjoyed his style & wicked sense of humour!

I have just spent 6 weeks studying this book with my year 5 English set and all of our work came from it.
We all loved it! On the first day I made a marvellous medicine of my own to take in and the children loved that!
We had so much fun with this book and have learned so much from it.
We all want to meet enormous farm animals!
The class was split as to whether or not grandma should have been given the medicine - perhaps the most compelling argument during our class debate was that it hadn't been tested before being used on a human which is against the law!

This was my first Roald Dahl book I've read to my boy. He was astonished with the idea of mixing all these weird things together, then giving it to his grandma. Then he loved what happened when she drunk it! Such a funny book.

I tried my hardest to hate this book, George is such a little psychopath, no matter how you read this book it is about attempted murder...at one time George even gets egged on by his Dad. But....the Grandma is such an evil old hag I soon found myself siding with George and relishing a big explosion.

The writing is typical Roald Dahl, quirky, dark and humourous. I thought it was going to be one of his weaker books due to the length, only 100 pages, but the length was just right in the end, any longer and things would have got to be too silly.

In the copy I read the illustrations were poor, things may have been squashed a bit to fit them on the page I guess, but the animals just looked a mess.

This was my first read of this one, don't remember reading it as a kid. Entertaining stuff.
