The new Tom Gates book What Monster came out on 4th October 2018 and is Tom Gates Book Number 15.

In terms of an age recommendation, I think these are great books for ages 8+ and if you want to start at the beginning, the first Tom Gates book is The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, which was published in 2011.

You don't have to read the Tom Gates books in order, but if you do want to, you can see the correct order below.

This quirky, funny, highly-illustrated, fiction series follows life’s ups and downs of chaotic but loveable Tom, his parents, older sister Delia and best friend Marcus. Written by award-winning author and illustrator Liz Pichon, Tom is a master of excuses (especially when it comes to homework), creative storyteller and doodler and middle-school comedian extraordinaire.

Proving hugely popular, the books have been translated into 42 languages and sold more than 4 million copies worldwide. There are 15 books in the main series, all packed full of brilliant illustrations, making them ideal for all young readers but especially reluctant readers and children who may relate to Tom’s own struggles with dyslexia.
