This is an oldie but goodie! From the brilliant author behind Elmer Picture Books books , Mr Benn are the 1960s and 1970s picture books about a British man who discovers a costume shop, and every day gets to be someone new! This is a great picture book series to introduce little ones to different parts of the world, things people do and even history.
The series was inspired by the author's own home in Putney, London, and since drawing the first book looking out of his home window, there have been many a Mr Benn's! The books all follow a similar arc: Mr Benn visits the costume shop, goes for the dressing room and is suddenly transported to his new costume's natural environment. So he visits medieval times to help a dragon, he meets King Neptune underwater dressed as a diver, and he even goes to ancient Rome as a gladiator!
You don't have to read these books in any specific order, and can start from whichever one sounds like something your little one could enjoy most!
