A BRAND-NEW EDITION, ILLUSTRATED BY QUENTIN BLAKE FOR THE FIRST TIME.
Pre-order now to complete your collection in time for Roald Dahl Day, September 2017. Billy's mum says he must never go out through the garden gate and explore the dark forest beyond. So, one day, that's exactly what he does! There he meets the Minpins, tiny tree-dwelling people whose children are the size of matchsticks. They live in fear of the terrible, galloping GRUNCHER. Will it gobble Billy too - or can he find a way to defeat the hungry beast? From Matilda to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG , the collaboration between Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake has captured millions of children's imaginations for nearly forty years. Billy and the Minpins, this new interpretation of Roald Dahl's very last story (originally published in 1991), is just as magical.

Perfect combination of Roald Dahl’s imaginative, beautifully descriptive story-telling, with Quentin Blake’s quirky illustrations. This was a new story for us when we thought we had read all of Roald Dahl’s stories. It is not very long (a complaint was that it wasn’t longer from my children), but it is engaging and fun, with simple enough language for a seven year old to read themselves.
If you enjoy other Roald Dahl stories then it won’t disappoint. Billy discovers a land of mini-sized people: the Minpins, who live in trees and ride on birds. To get back home to his mum he needs to get past the mysterious Gruncher, a monster who lives below the trees. Characteristics imaginative story-telling which we all live. Recommend from 5 Years upwards.

Really loved this!! We hadn't come across this story before - though we have read all the other Dahl's. not sure why we had missed this previously. Anyway, totally fantastic story- possibly one of our favourite Dahl books now. Pictures simply made it come alive. Nothing not to love.

I've really enjoyed it. Billy is never allowed to go outside. When he is bored, a devil comes and says, you can go to the forest. When Billy sees the minpins, he says how can you walk up a tree without falling off? We have suction boots! He rides on a swan and saves the minpins and their friends.

Another one of Roald Dahls fantastic books, I love the fact this book is a little scary but in a child friendly way, and the amazing illustrations really transport you to the spooky forest. A lovely story that really brings the imagination to life, think we all like to think we have minpins living in the trees in our garden.

I loved the devil who told Billy to go into the Forest of Sin. I loved the phrase ‘Beware, beware of the forest of Sin, none come out but many go in!’ I loved the Minpins and the little doors in the tree. I loved the whole book because it was a cool adventure.
