Knowing how to respond to an emergency can save lives and the inspiration behind this storybook proves that even a child of two-and-a-half years of age can learn what to do. Author Jo Keeling's daughter, Isabelle, known as Izzy, was that very age when she managed to call an ambulance for her mother following a severe allergic reaction, otherwise known as an anaphylactic shock. As a result of the publicity Jo thought how fabulous it would be if all young children could be educated about emergency situations. To simply learn their full name, age and address as early as possible is highly beneficial to themselves; to help save someone's life is truly amazing. Jo decided that it would be helpful to educate children and as a result she has written Adventure in an Ambulance. Adventure in an Ambulance is a 32-page storybook, charmingly illustrated and perfect for reading to young children to help them understand how to call an ambulance in an emergency.
