When Tom Marlowe and his mentor, Dr Harker, visit Norfolk they are intrigued by stories of an ancient royal grave protected by a ghostly guardian. As guests of local landlord who owns the grave site, Tom and Harker are present when a strange series of attacks culminates in two murders. Tom glimpses a mournful figure on the horizon and begins to wonder if there more than local legend to the story of the curse. Surrounded by shifty-looking servants, smugglers and a black-cloaked aristocrat, anything seems possible. Tom starts to delve into the mystery...
