Beanotown - for the first time in Dennis's life - has become boring. All Dennis's pranks are backfiring and he seems to have lost his awesomeness. Even his faithful hound, Gnasher, seems fed up with him these days. If only there was some way to bring the fun back to Beanotown...

When Dennis hears about the legendary Golden Pea-shooter of Everlasting Fun, it sounds like the only thing that can solve his problems and return his hometown to its former glory. With the help of his cousin, Minnie, and Gnasher, Dennis must go on a quest, discovering the mysterious Chamber of Mischief in his bid to find the Golden Pea-shooter; but a series of tricky challenges (and Dennis's nemesis, Walter) stand in his way.

Dennis's latest and, quite possibly, greatest adventure is filled with epic fun, from ghostly Vikings and skateboarding Grandmas to an enormous Gnashersaurus-Rex and a series of interactive puzzles for YOU, the reader, to complete. Can YOU help Dennis solve the fiendish mystery and save Beanotown from eternal boringness?

What an amazing book. My son has read it about 4 times in the last 7 days. He finds it really funny, even took it with him to read on a car journey.

First ever Dennis the Menace book for my son and it does not disappoint!

Dennis visits his gran in hospital and he finds out about the Golden Peashooter of Everlasting Fun, this starts the ball rolling for the adventure.

Funny as you would expect it has had my son in stitches and really entertained.  Highly recommended.

I liked the part about the penguin cracked as the mayor screamed loudly. This book is an example of an adventure as they go through the tunnel. It made me sad as the grandmother hurt herself badly.

Brilliant book. Funny. Clever. Unrelentingly inventive. Reminds me a bit of Spike Milligan’s ‘Puckoon’, dusted off and given a sprightly, even more zany makeover. To transfer such well-loved comic strip characters to the pages of a prose novel can’t have been easy, but here somehow it all looks so effortless. With a few deft descriptive strokes here and there, Beanotown and its environs come across as a weirdly believable place, with a history and internal logic all of its own. And did I say funny? Definitely funny.

I thought this book was really funny, and full of adventure, which I liked. There were black and white illustrations in the book, but I didn't take that much notice of them. I liked the names of the chapters. The chapters were quite short. I would definitely recommend.

The author of this book is sitting in his bedroom when a ball hits him in the face. The ball is owned by his next door neighbour, Dennis. He gets Dennis in his house and gets Dennis to tell him an interesting story. Then, he is finally able to write about the Chamber of Mischief...
