The new jaw-achingly funny novel from David Walliams, the number one bestselling author! Make your appointment if you dare... Darkness had come to the town. Strange things were happening in the dead of night. Children would put a tooth under their pillow for the tooth fairy, but in the morning they would wake up to find... a dead slug; a live spider; hundreds of earwigs creeping and crawling beneath their pillow. Evil was at work. But who or what was behind it...? Read this book and find out!

Great story with a sad ending - the perfect Williams combination of comedy and cliff edge plots!

I love all of David Walliam's books so far! He is a very entertaining writer and they always make me laugh.  This book is very funny as long as you aren't scared of the dentist!

I really enjoyed this book, I found the storyline very interesting. The characters are amazing, especially Alfie. He is very curious and funny. I also like his Dad who is kind and courageous even if he is disabled.

David Walliams is an extremely talented writer. This book revolves around Alfie, a young boy that detests going to the dentist. He lives with his dad, whose lungs are damaged from working in a coal mine. His school is visited by the new dentist in the area, a woman with mind-boggingly white teeth called Miss Root. Everyone loves her, but Alfie thinks that she isn't who she seems. He isn't alone in his theory; Gabz, a shy girl in his year believes exactly the same thing. Alfie discovers that the toothpaste she has given everyone to use contains acid, and can eat away at even metal. Also, kids in the area, that are putting teeth underneath their pillow to get a coin, are finding all sorts of horrors under their pillows instead, such as a bat's wing or a dead slug! At home, things are looking bleak for Alfie too, with his dad hiring a social worker called Winnie. Winnie feels that Alfie is a poor troubled child lost in his world of imagination, whereas Alfie is annoyed by the fact that no one believes his theory about Mrs Root.

A book with a sensational plot-twist and an ending that will leave your eyes welling up in tears. I would definitely recommend it.

I really liked this book and have read it at least 3 times! It is an amazing story about a boy that no one believes. He has to go to extraordinary measures to protect every child from the demon dentist. I would recommend this book to anyone, unless you have a severe phobia of dentists!

I thought this book worth 448 pages was OK. Not the best but it was OK. I like  Bad Dad best. I have now gone off David Walliams'  books so I am going to give them to my brother. I used to read this book every night until I finished. It kid of freaked me out near the end though. If I tell you I will spoil the book.
