The Reverend Lee is suffering from a rare and acutely embarrassing condition: Back-to-Front Dyslexia. It affects only his speech, and he doesn't realize he's doing it, but the parishioners of Nibbleswicke are shocked and confused by his seemingly outrageous comments. At last a cure is found and the mild-mannered vicar can resume normal service. Or at least as normal as is possible for a man who must walk backwards to be sure of talking forwards! A highly comic tale in the best Dahl tradition of craziness, written for the benefit of the Dyslexia Institute.

This is a funny, short story about a loveable vicar who has back to front speech without recognising so.
My daughter chose this as it was by Roald Dahl, a favourite in our house, and has thoroughly enjoyed it whilst gaining a little more understanding about dyslexia.
This is a great short story that had some laugh out loud moments but also helps highlight the issue of dyslexia without mocking it. My daughter also liked the reference to 'esio trot', another favourite!

It brought the issue of dyslexia into the open with a humorous twist. The story is about the reverend Lee who says random words backwards without realising - raciv instead of vicar, rotsap instead of pastor, dog instead of God, etc. He eventually remedies this by walking backwards when he is talking to the congregation in church.
