The classic adventures of everybody's favourite flat boy - It's Jeff Brown's Flat Stanley.

Stanley Lambchop is an ordinary boy with an extraordinary problem. One night, a giant pinboard falls on top of him leaving him completely flat. At first, Stanley enjoys the benefits of his strange predicament - it can be fun going in out of rooms simply by sliding under the door. And it's a hoot being posted to your friends in California for a holiday. But it's not always easy being different, and, once the novelty begins to wear off, Stanley wishes he could be just like everybody else again. But how will he ever fill out?

Jeff Brown's world-famous character Flat Stanley continues to charm half a century after he first found his way into print.

This story is about a boy who gets squashed by a bulletin board that made him flat. My favourite book is Flat Stanley because he can go through small things that other people can not get through. The family is really kind and helpful to Stanley however his brother Arthur isn't. Arthur doesn't like Stanley being flat because he gets all the attention and doesn't have to walk. I like this book because laugh and I enjoyed it.

Dad bought this for me because he read it at his school. I really liked the adventures Stanley can go on after he gets flattened by the notice board. I love it but not as much as Dad did.

I read this to my five year old daughter and have re read it on many occasions as it is a firm favourite.
Following Stanley on all his adventures after being flattened is really exciting and my daughter especially enjoyed how he got to fly as a kite. When Stanley's brother has the idea to use a bicycle pump to rein flare Stanley, there was anticipation followed by big cheers as it was a success.

This is a lovely story and is a firm favourite in our house.

I read this to my daughter who really enjoyed it. She was fascinated at how Stanley lived his life as flat Stanley. This was a childhood favourite for me and so it was nice to re-read and enjoy with my daughter.

I came across this book from a Toppsta parent recommendation for my 6 year old son.  I have the large picture book version.  This appealed to me as it has lovely large text and pictures on each page and will hopefully encourage him to pick this up of his own accord to read by himself.  This has yet to happen....but he does love the story.  I was a little worried that the boys might get concerned that Stanley is flattened by an notice board but they seem to have taken that in their stride and are sufficient distracted by the subsequent adventures that Stan gets up to with his brother.  A particular part of the story is when Stan gets involved with burglars and policemen which for some reason always seems to appeal to my sons. Again I was a little concerned at the end when Stan's brother tries to unflatten Stan by inflating him with a pump, but thankfully my sons seem to know that this is just a story and haven't yet tried this on each other!

This book is about Flat Stanley doing lots of different things. Flat Stanley's normal name was Stanley but then one night his song board with all the notes for the songs fell on him and he was alright but then he was flat. My favourite part was when Stanley was a kite. His brother got to use him as a kite and fly him around. I also like the part when he was dressed up as a shepherd and pretended to be a picture. I loved the book.

I read this book at school. I loved it and I thought it was very good. Flat Stanley is about a boy who when he is sleeping one night a bulletin board comes off the wall and squashes him. My favourite bit is when Stanley is used as a kite. It is a easy book to read on your own. I would recommend it for ages 5-11 boys and girls.

I got this book for my 5year old. Most of it I read to hi , but he read some himself. He enjoyed this book, thought it was funny. It's the story of a boy who is flattened by a notice board that falls on him. My son was excited to find out what happened next, he wanted to keep reading. Stanley goes on an adventure which us fun for the reader. Think it appeals more to boys

Both my kids enjoy this book.  My five year old can read some bits back to me and my two year old enjoys the quirkiness of this funny story, that I remember reading in my childhood.  The book is broken into stories, which works well for bedtime reading.  These are a lovely light hearted collection of stories.

An exciting storyline, perfect for small boys.  Imaginative and creative, introduces them to Africa and travels.  Nice pictures in the book too.  Some parts quite funny and entertaining.  Perhaps slightly too long for a 5 year old?

I have a few concerns over the physics of this book, a boy gets flattened by what looks like a cork board, he lives... that part makes sense to me, my concern is how he is used as a kite, where has all his weight gone? Also any clothes he puts on suddenly become flat? hmmmmm might explain why my clothes are always too tight.

My daughter said she liked this, but there wasn't any laughter and usually we end up discussing every page, not this time though, I think it didn't capture her imagination enough. So 3 stars only.
