When in a good book... Love this, not only because we've visited this amazing city, but our daughter is in the middle of a term-long look at Rome at school, with lots of projects from pottery and mosaic, to dressing up, to learning all about the Roman soldiers, gods and way of life. This book is packed with interesting and fun facts for her to share with her teachers and fellow classmates! Plus there's lots of ideas and inspiration for the projects. A reference book with a comic-book appeal that will be picked up many times in the future.

Micah was doing Romans as a topic at school, so it was great to win this book. He really enjoyed it. He loves his information books. He said it was very interesting and there was lots of fun facts he learnt, which he could use at school in his work about the Romans and Rome. He even took it into school to share with his class mates. He loved the fun facts, and the illustrations, and now wants to visit Rome.

This is an excellent, informative book about Rome. We have previously looked at City Trails: Paris. Both books are mixture of cartoon sketches, photographs and snippets of information. The reader as s/he turns the pages of this book is taken on a journey around Rome. We actually didn't really stick to the designated path, but just went back and forth looking at the bits which interested us at the time. My son's favourite parts was about The Colosseum and the River Tiber, (We were both amazed to find out about the coyprus that live there.), as well as some of the more gruesome sights (mummified remains). I liked the fact that there was an index and mention of books for further reading at the back of the book. We would both definitely recommend the series.

These City Trails are a great book series, we would definitely recommend checking them out if you are traveling to one of the cities they cover. The Rome book is again full of interesting facts, a lot of them very different to traditional facts about Rome. The illustrations are bright and fun. Addie enjoyed working her way through the book and finding out more about an amazing city

This book is excellent! If like me, you have a child who is desperate to visit Rome or indeed if you are planning a break to Rome with the children, this book is a must read before you go. Organised into 19 themed trails across the city, it is filled with lovely photographs and lots of wonderful illustrations. It is crammed full of information that the children can easily read and understand. The children love it. It's easy to dip in and out of too! We are all desperate to visit now!

As soon as I saw this book I wanted to read it. I love travelling and creating a travel book specific to a city to be read by children isn’t a fabulous idea. It has 100 pages of photos, illustrations and facts about Rome’s famous monuments Andy sights as well as shopping and and eating. There is somehting for every child in this book, and the paragraphs are short and to the point making it easy to remember. I am now trying to convince my parents that our next city trip should be Rome.

This book is brilliant. It has so much detail about Rome and offers lots of different trails to follow around the city (there are 19 to be exact). If you have read any of the other books in the series you will know that you have tour guides Marco and Amelia to help you with your journey. Along each trail there are amazing facts, figures and details as well as some fun cartoon style illustrations and lots of photographs and pictures to look at. Our favourite trail was 'Delicious Rome' where you are given lots of detail about the local food. The descriptions of pizza, gelato and spaghetti made us really hungry. There is so much to learn by reading this book and we loved the fun facts and the great tour guides. The Lonely Planet Kids guides are perfect for young readers to really immerse themselves in different cities and cultures. We loved this book and can't wait to explore other places.

Our family LOVE this book! My girls have really enjoyed reading about places we went to last summer! We had fantastic time in Rome and it's great to see it again and read all the facts and secrets about this marvelous city!

The book is bright and colourful. It's defenitely educational one that gives your child a wide knowledge about Rome. The pictures really make it fun to read. The quality of the book is great and can be enjoyed by every age. This book is really neat because it has little stories about the city, lots of information and amazing real photographs of monuments and the most popular places in this city.

I think this book can make an excellent gift for a child who wants to learn about history etc.

What's more, there are some great titles when you look through the range. We've got one about Paris and I will definitely be ordering more of these for different countries. London is already on the way:)
