Young friends are caught on the camera of a movie company filming London's historical landmarks. They enter a fantasy world of bizarre characters, wily animals, and evil General Nitti-Gritti, from an ancient eastern dynasty, intent on conquering Britain. A matinee performance of a 'Midsummer Night's Dream' at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, attended by schoolchildren, turns into a real nightmare when General Nitti-Gritti adds his own script to the drama.
