Overall Winner of the Red House Children's Book Award 2013

With a tantalizing storyline that dares the reader to explore a monstrous mansion, this spooky new take on the classic Haunted House concept is completely engrossing. It is jam-packed with pops and flaps, and on the final page there is a terrific twist.

Perfect as a Halloween treat, or for spooky thrills all year round!

I always look out for winners of the Red House Children's Book Award as it's usually a mark of quality. This spook-tacular lift the flap book scooped the overall award in 2013 and boy was it deserved. Wonderfully illustrated by the ever marvellous Lee Wildish, the fantastically fun story structure warns us readers NOT TO GO TOUCHING ANYTHING, which of course, we gleefully ignore, thus exposing a series of increasingly dangerous and grotesque fiends! The magic disappearing ink last page twist is pure genius (warning - apparently some newer editions don't have this feature).
