Grandma Mcgarvey Paints the Shed
Author: Jenny Hessell Illustrator: Trevor Pye
My boys love this book! Grandma McGarvey is such an interesting and likeable character. The language used in the stories is easy for young children to understand. Great illustrations too.

Arty! The Greatest Artist In The World
Author: William Bee
My two boys loved hearing about how Arty became the greatest artist in the world. They really liked the bright illustrations of all the different challenges Arty had to face in his quest. A fun story.

Mighty, Mighty Construction Site
Author: Sherri Duskey Rinker
If your child loves Goodnight goodnight construction site, then they will love this book! I was worried it might be too similar to the original, but with new characters and an exciting new project it was enough to keep our almost three year old entertained. He keeps asking to hear it over and over again, which is always a good sign!

Axel Scheffler Treasury of Rhyming Stories Book and CD
Author: Axel Scheffler Illustrator: Axel Scheffler
If you're expecting something to the level of the likes of the Gruffalo then you'll be disappointed, but for a very young child this is a good book. Our one year old enjoys turning the pages, which he can easily do with the handy tabs. Short stories means he doesn't get bored or wander off before it's finished. As always great illustrations. The CD is nice to listen to, no annoying voice reading the stories.

Sharing a Shell
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Lydia Monks
Our two year old loves this book. He calls it the blob story, so I think that may be his favourite character. Lovely story about sharing and friendship, with nice illustrations.
