You Choose Books Series

You Choose is the picture book series written by Pippa Goodhart and illustrated by Nick Sharratt, where toddlers take over and can pick exactly how they want their stories to go. 

If we had to pick what we think is the most engaging picture book series, this would be it. Each spread of the books asks children to pick where they would like to live, who they would like as family, the food they would eat, what they would wear... and we should warn you, lots of pointing action happens when you read these books!

The books are a great way to build vocabulary, learning new words and associating images to them. We also found they encourage imagination, as every time we open the books a new story seems to form, just by choosing different combinations of things! The conversations these books have sparked would be impossible to count on two hands. 

It's up to you whether to buy the general book that came out first, or one of the others in the series. They tend to have a focus on one theme, like space or fairy tales.
