The Just William books by Richmal Crompton  are a timeless classic, having just turned 100 years old! So, what better occasion than to have the newest generations of little ones aged 9+ have a read? 

The books all follow an 11-year-old schoolboy called William, who lives in a small English village. He has a set of best friends, The Outlaws, and, together, they get up to all sorts of mischief. While at the core these are all brilliant stories of friendship and adventure, the books also are a great way for little ones to read about historical events, such as imperialiasm, WWI and WWII, and even the space race. Plus, they are simply so funny!

This is the perfect series to read if you're looking for a classic and are a fan of book series like St Clare's, Enola Holmes and Beaky Malone.
