What the Ladybird Heard is an absolute favourite amongst preschoolers and parents alike. 
 
Julia Donaldson’s funny rhyming stories about the clever ladybird are brought to life by Lydia Monks’ bright and lively illustrations.
 
Children love joining in with all the animal sounds as the ladybird and her animal friends outwit the baddies Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh. 
 
The first book saw the ladybird and farm animals come up with a plan to stop the two burglars steal the farmer’s fine prize cow. After the success of that story, the What the Ladybird Heard characters have come back in three more books, in the latest of which – What the Ladybird Heard at the Seaside – Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh are after the mermaid’s hair!
 
Julia Donaldson books are always a winner and her partnership with Lydia Monks makes for brilliant stories that you’ll read over and over again.
