Have you watched The Last of Us and are hungry for more near-future dystopian stories of action, adventure and semi-destroyed cities? The Blood of Eden books for ages 14+ are your perfect next read.

In an imagined world of the near future, a deadly virus has spread and seventeen-year-old Allison Sekemoto's city has been walled to avoid further spreading of the virus. But this walled-in city is a dangerous one, for at night terrible creatures lurk in search of human blood: they're blood-thirsty vampires, and soon enough Allison becomes one too...

Allison's only hope is to join a group of pilgrims towards a place called Eden, where a cure to the virus is believed to be hidden. But joining the pilgrims is not so easy: Allison has to pretend to be a human. Her journey is not an easy one: while she finds true love, she faces great challenges and, possibly, death.

This amazing fantasy dystopian series is perfect for fans of Divergent, the Hunger Games and The Maze Runner! If you loved this series and would like to read more by Julie Kagawa, do not despair! She's written two other amazing series: the All the Talon saga and All the Iron Fey series.
