A New York Times bestselling title, illustrated by the winner of the Red House Children's Book Award 2013. When your grandad rings the doorbell, it's babysitting time! This is a hilarious and accessible picture book about a child spending time with his grandad. The perfect Father's day gift! Written in a how-to style, the narrator gives important tips for 'babysitting' a grandad, including what to eat for snack (anything dipped in ketchup, ice cream topped with cookies, cookies topped with ice cream), what to do on a walk (find lizards and dandelion puffs, be on the lookout for puddles and sprinklers), and how to play with a grandad (build a pirate cave, put on a scary play). "A cunning study in role reversal, with Lee Wildish's over-the-top illustrations well in keeping with a jaunty text." - Independent on Sunday

My daughter loves this book, it makes her laugh. A little boy's parents go out and his Granddad comes over, and its from the perspective of the little boy and him babysitting his Granddad. My daughter enjoys listening to this story, and she will say from the book what she does with her Granddad. It is a fun book, with fun, detailed illustration which my daughter likes.

This is a lovely and charming book that is written as if it's a guide for how the Grandchild should look after the Grandad instead of the other 'normal' way around. There are lots of funny situations that are happening when the children stay with granddads at home when parents are away. Lovely illustrations made as laugh all the time. I think it's a great book especially for kids who have a problem when parents are away.
I highly recommend this book:)

Bought as a father's day gift for my dad on him becoming a grandfather.
The boy's parents are off out for the evening.... and so grandad is coming round to babysit.... but in the child's eyes he is being left in charge to look after grandad.... and its written from that perspective. He reassures grandad that the parents will "be back soon, they always come back". I can see how the book may help a child that worries about being left.... but I think there are better books that explore the grandad/grandchild relationship.
