Teasel is a field mouse and is best friends with Bramble, a hedgehog. But winter is coming and Bramble and his family have to hibernate. Teasel is upset at having to spend time away from his best friend Bramble, but then comes up with a wonderful idea - he will make a book for Bramble to describe to him the autumn activities of the woodland animals and the delights of winter that Bramble has never known.
