A great story for learning the animals and their sounds,  my kids always love books that you can join in with sounds so this is a favourite.

This is a charming picture book that introduces lots of farm animals. As you read, you follow a puppy around the farm to say hello to all the animals.

There is a short rhyme to introduce each animal, such as "here's the sty - not very big - say hello to the little pink pig". This is followed by a repetitive phrase that is recycled with each animal: "Hello, pig. Pink, pink, pink." I really like the repetition as soon little ones will start joining in with the familiar phrase.

It teaches toddlers the farm animals as well as their noises; my children love to join in with the animal sounds.

The pictures are simple but bright and engaging and there is a fair bit of detail so you can talk about them with your children. There are touch-and-feel elements on each page but they are all the same feel - although my children still eagerly shave arch each page to stroke the animals regardless! Babies will enjoy the sensory stimulation and will likely keep them engaged as you share the book.

Our favourite page is the end when all the animals gather together and we say goodbye to each one. My daughter waves at them without fail!

It's a sweet read that all small children will enjoy.
