My kids love the rhyme in this book, and wont let me read it without doing the voices!  Another Donaldson masterpiece.  The kids all love the recap section at the end and insist on saying this bit themselves!

A good story, lots of glitter, fun pictures and lots of colours and animals which my youngest liked. We liked the fact that this princess saves herself from the wizard, no handsome princes here!

I love reading this book. It's about a wizard who captures a princess and she tries to escape. Every page we spot out where the Princess is and I like the clever way she escapes. It has gorgeous illustrations and glitter that my kids like feeling.

We are huge Julia Donaldson fans in this house but this one just felt to miss the normal satisfaction mark. The children found the various days and escape attempts a little flat and repetitive, without the usual use of beautiful rhyme. There were elements of repetition to the story's format, but not with the usual flow.
