Jacky Hart has found a hidden talent in the performing arts, and she's a triple threat onstage! She wants nothing more than to act and sing all summer - but her parents have other plans for her. Jacky reluctantly signs up for a summer job in her resort town of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, where tourists come to enjoy the beach and fun carnival atmosphere.

Now she has serious responsibilities like her job and babysitting her younger sisters, but Jacky longs to perform in the summer stock performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Can she handle all of her important commitments and still have fun with her friends - or will she learn that juggling isn't one of her many talents?

A brilliant book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Jacky's life gets even more dramatic as the summer holidays roll around. Forced to get a job, Jacky has to balance her house chores, with her job, and her rehearsals for the summer show of Macbeth. After landing the role of Puck, Jacky's life is full of its ups and downs. This book was fun to read and was also very easy to read as well. I recommend to fans of Jacqueline Wilson and the Dork Diaries if you love a sweet little book that will definitely make you smile.

Jackie's parents are trying to get their dream jobs so they need their children to help them with the family's expenditure during the summer holiday. The girls need to find jobs and take care of their younger sisters. As you can imagine it's not what teenagers were planning to do however they had no choice. Despite of all the hassle they still find time to have fun, perform, enjoy the sun and  fall in love.

This is a very entertaining book - as all written by James Patterson. Great story, deals with some issues that are important for kids - with some nice and mean characters. Jackie is such a positive person that I am trying to stretch reading the book to last forever...well, as much as I can

When I read Jacky ha-ha1 I thought no book could top it. Well, this book just proved me wrong!

Jacky is now 12, and she just found out that she has to spend her summer working! If that isn't bad enough, a boy called schuyler has come to live in seaside heights, and he's trouble! Jacky is also is in a Shakespeare play, a midsummer night's dream, and is playing puck. This going to be a long summer!

This book wasn' quite what I expected. The story has it all, love, family , growing up, loss . A summer where confidence grows, new talents are realised and lessons are learnt. Humorous Shakesperian quotes. All adds up to a pretty amazing book. JACKY HA HA certainly has a way of getting into trouble l love her !xx

Popped this in Matilda's Christmas stocking as it arrived just before Christmas Day.  3 days later she had read it and loved it!  James Patterson is the author and I love his books so nice to know he writes fantastic kid's books as well.  Jacky had a hilarious summer and Matilda is looking forward to the follow ups.

It's taken Scarlett a while to read this with the library of books she got for Christmas! But she has just read it cover to cover in 3 days! She really enjoyed Jacky Ha Ha. When we talked about it she told me she liked it because it made her laugh out loud (I can confirm this!) and that she liked Jacky the character because she thought she was a lot like herself. Scarlett is developing a great sense of humour so I think the fact that Jacky could make a joke about anything resonated with her.
We read the first few chapters together....this was fun as the story starts in the 1980's, mummy's era! Scarlett, being a twentieth century child had no idea who 'New kids on the block' were so we had to google them and listen to some of there songs, this was fun!
The story is about Jacky, her 7 siblings and her parents, her mother a US Marine and her dad is a life guard. Scarlett was also able to relate with the military connection of Jacky's mum being in the military and having to live a large part of her childhood with her parent being away.
The book deals with lots of questions Jacky comes up against in her complicated, busy life and how she comes to grips with the decisions she has to make.
Scarlett really enjoyed this book and has already said she wasn't to read it again! Thankyou Toppsta.

This book is SO FUNNY!
It really makes you laugh out loud.
You also really feel all the emotions the characters feel!
I recommend this book to anyone who likes 'diary of a wimpy kid' or 'tom gates'.
It is definitely a comedy read.
My favourite character is jacky; she is kind, funny and a great actor.

My son won this as a giveaway and found this very funny. He did, however, say that it was really aimed at girls and so didn't want to read the whole book!
