Two greedy squirrels learn to share in the third hilarious rhyming adventure from the bestselling creators of THE LION INSIDE. Greedy squirrels Cyril and Bruce both have their sights on a very special prize: THE VERY LAST NUT OF THE SEASON! As the nut bounces crazily though the forest, the squirrels race after it, between the trees, over boulders, down the river and - ARGH! - right to the edge of a waterfall! Working together might be the only way to save themselves now ... A laugh-out-loud tale about friendship and sharing from the bestselling creators of THE LION INSIDE and THE KOALA WHO COULD. Perfect for competitive friends and sibling rivals! What a beautiful book with such a lovely message. The illustrations are so nice and the rhyming is fantastic. My daughter absolutely loved this book. She thought fighting over a nut was very silly. Will definitely read the other books in the series.
I took it in to the nursery I work at and the 2 year olds sat beautifully listening to the story and we had lots of conversations about sharing after we had read it. Excellent message about sharing and team work

We really enjoyed the moral tale of two squirrels who wanted the same thing. My daughter loved their near misses and guessing what would happen next- the illustrations are great. A really fun book.

I'm always on the look out for Rachel Bright books after discovering her book The Lion Inside (which is brilliant in case anyone is wondering and is still my Son's favourite bedtime book which we read most nights) and so I was over the moon to get to read this new book with my two little ones.

Both of my children love this book and it is perfect for reading at bedtimes but I also ordered it hoping that they would see similarities between the two squirrels fighting and when they fight over silly things such as the same toy or last biscuit etc. The story is told in a rhyming style and has been very well written and thought out and also features a direction change midway through the book at the waterfall part. The story is about two squirrels; Spontaneous Cyril and Plan-Ahead Bruce who both spot the same pine cone and both try to get it at the same time with disastrous results. Will they discover in time that it is better to be Friends than to squabble?....

The book is quite a large hardcover book which measures approx 31cm by 24.6cm.

I love the illustrations which are by Jim Field who also illustrates The Lion Inside and other Rachel Bright books. There are full page illustrations along with multi-picture pages and always something to discover in addition to the main characters. This is another lovely book from the author who is fast becoming a favourite children's picture book author for me. The book is just beautifully written and illustrated and perfect for little ones between 2 and 6 years old. Both of my little ones are within this age range and love the story - a lovely bedtime or anytime book

A lovely book about two squirrels who don't get on as they want the same thing. The kids like the rhymes and the illustrations are detailed and bright. The ending is really lovely and showed the kids that you can sort out anything with a friend by your side.

The main characters are Cyril and Bruce, two squirrels who have very different attitudes when it comes to preparing for winter... They meet in the story when they disagree over who should get the last pine cone of the season and eventually find themselves in a spot of bother when it comes loose and rolls far away from them into a river. The rhyme is written very cleverly and the illustrations are amazing, adding a lot to the comedic nature of the story. In places it can also be very gripping!

I borrowed this book from a friend, I thought it would be great for my sons who do squabble a fair bit.  Two greedy squirrels squabble over the last pine cone, it falls into a river, and so do they, a bird swipes the pine cone away from them, and the squirrels have to help each other to get out of the water, and they think it's so funny and become friends and then decide to share everything...

The story isn't that exciting and none of us laughed at all.  Illustrations are nice.
