Tamzin enjoyed the storyline, that Bob who was bullied at school found peace at the zoo among the less popular animals, especially the blob fish. Tamzin liked that Bob could understand and communicate with the animals.

Tamzin didn't like what happened to the bully at the end - but was happy that Bob and Blobhad a happy ending.

T is a big Walliums fan - she enjoyed this book, it's nice to have a shorter story every now and again but she still prefers his longer stories.

Another great book by David Williams. He writes amazingly and though it as short book it captures you right from the start. Bob is being bullied for the way he looks, bob becomes friends with a blobfish and it starts an adventure with him

Parent: A really lovely story. However, it is much more than just a humorous story, it is also an educational book on those animals we often overlook and an interesting take on bullying.

My son: I liked the animals the best. I especially liked the Komodo dragon and Pig-nosed frog. I thought it was very funny. It was funny when the Pig -nosed frog  and Sir Basil are 'oinking' and then the frog lands on Sir Basil's face.

This was my first David Walliams book and I loved it. I found the introduction really funny with Raj and the mouldy chocolate. I liked it when Bob saw the Blobfish because he screamed really loud and there were lots of other funny bits in the book that made me laugh out loud! I think I will definitely read more of his books after this one.

This was a very funny book. I liked how Raj has done another introduction but all the characters in the story were new. I wonder how David Walliams thought of Bob to look like a blob fish and it's a great idea to set the story in a zoo. The ending was one of my favourite parts of the book... Five stars from me!

We are big David Walliams fans and this book does not disappoint.  From start to finish this book is fantastic.  it has a good anti bullying message which is delivered with humour.

The main character of the story is Bob who lives with his grandpa.  Bob has a strange nose and sadly the bullies torment him because of his funny face.  Bob loves animals and he relates to the Blobfish in the zoo which is his favourite place to visit.

This book was great to read aloud with the animals making funny noises and Walliams uses some great vocabulary to make the book a really good read.

Fans of David Walliams will not be disappointed with this book. It's just as funny as his other books and follows the same type of storyline. This one is about a young boy called Bob who lives with his grandad and has a family of people with funny faces. The bullies at his school call him Blob. It's easy to think what the characters look like as there are great pictures of them all through the book. It also has a very funny intro written by Raj.

I would definitely recommend this brilliant, funny book to all my friends and any David Walliams,or similar, fans.

Another brilliantly funny book from David Walliams. I read this to the whole school in a series of assemblies and enjoyed putting on voices for the plethora of characters... especially Winston the zoo keeper and the twin sidekicks (they definitely got the best laughs). The children thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the sounds of animals and other sound effects throughout.
Bob, The unlikely hero, is a lovely character to whom many can relate.
Highly recommended.

Very absorbing.  Daughter enjoyed the fact that the boy helped the neglected ugly animals at the zoo.  School bullying storyline helped daughter's understanding of the problem.  Funny.  Liked learning about the animals from the glossary at the end.

I love books by this author. This story is just as good as the other books I have read. It is shorter than his other stories and very funny. I loved the ending. This book is good for both boys and girls. Very easy and fast to read if you are a strong reader. I think younger children would like this story of an adult reads it to them.

My animal-mad five year old chose this book with his World Book Day token and I read it to him as a bedtime story over three consecutive nights. Goodness me! He loved it so much that he wants it read to him all over again and has spent a lot of time poring over the illustrations and animal fact snippets at the end.

The story couldn't have been more well suited to my son, being the tale of a boy who loves all of the weird and less-loved animals at the zoo. The animals themselves are all hugely anthropomorphised, with human-like emotions, and the underlying message is about dealing with bullies, whether you be human or animal. The story is told with a hefty dose of silliness and slapstick humour that had the boy laughing his head off and even punching the air near the end.  This was our first venture into the work of David Walliams but we'll definitely be interested in reading more of his books now.

This book was sad at the beginning and had a happy ending. Bob is teased at school for how he looked and liked visiting the zoo because the animals had funny faces too.
It's a short book, different to other David Walliams books. It's about funny faces.

The story is both enjoyable and educational.  It has a feel good factor of triumphing over a problem and it is something that most school children will be able to relate to.  The epilogue is very good for facts and figures and the story has both humour and truth in it.  It is an appealing story that should appeal to both boys and girls.  My girls thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed. My favourite scenes were the ones in the zoo, because they always involved weird animals. I thought that the story could have been longer, and the storyline little a bit deeper, but apart from that, I thought this book was very good and would recommend it for 7+.
