Ten little elves set off on a mission to rescue Christmas. But what will the little elves do when they meet a growling polar bear, a yowling yeti and a scary Ice Queen? Will the little elves save the day? A fabulously festive picture book with lots of things to spot and count on every page, this noisy rhyming story from the creators of the bestselling Ten Little Pirates is perfect for sharing again and again. Praise for the Ten Little series: "Roaringly funny rhymes" - Independent
"A rollicking read with an easy rhythm and jaunty illustrations ... excellent" - Guardian
"Hilarious. Will have both child and reader laughing out loud" - Angels & Urchins
"Brilliant to help teach children to recognise numbers" - New Statesman

A great counting book with lots going on. The elves need to help Santa save Christmas but each page sees an elf disappear. Perfect for practice counting up and down to 10, and lots of fun too.

This is our second time choosing this book as we just love these stories. With counting rhymes, funny scenarios and a great ending, what else do you need! Perfect for pre schoolers.

Ten Little Christmas Elves is a fantastic book about the littles elves adventures to help the reindeers get better for Christmas. It is a simple rhyming story which the children loved and they really enjoyed how each time an elf got taken away there was a fun sound that went with it (like brrrr, clink etc.) which after reading it a few times the children could join in with. I think it's brilliant that the book counts down the elves throughout the story with it clearly showing on each page the number as a number and a word (1 and one) as it's great for the children to be able to recognise the numbers and it gives them a chance to learn the numbers and counting backwards in a fun way and a way they probably don't realise they're learning. The characters in the book are brilliant and it's so nice to see so many different looking elves rather than them all looking the same as each other as it shows that it's okay to be different and it's always great to have a diverse range of characters for the children to see. Their favourite character, as always, was Father Christmas and they noticed from the first page that Santa looked like he was in trouble! The illustrations in the book are fantastic as they are so brightly coloured and there is lots for the children to look at which kept their attention throughout the story. The children particularly liked the page with the yeti as he stood out to them and looked like a fun and scary creature. Even the front cover is gorgeous and many of the children wanted to be read this book because of the sparkly cover! Ten Little Elves is a great book for young children, a lovely festive story that made the children happy and with it being a board book it is great for the children to read alone and you know it'll last a long time.

A Christmas take on the fun series of Ten Little... this has a nice rhythm to read aloud and the children joined in with the countdown from 10-1. The illustrations are clear and bright and the text was clear to read.

Having read a few of the other books in this series to my two children, I had high expectations for this book.
I was quite disappointed that it didn’t have the same layout as the other books. Teaching counting from 1-10 was still a core structure to the book but the story faltered in my opinion.
My 2 year old is very into Christmas so I thought she would love this as much as other books in the series but sadly she didn’t seem to take to it either.
We couldn’t wait for this title to be released having loved the others so much that we got the paperback version rather than waiting for the board book.
As usual the characters didn’t have names but this wasn’t relevant to the story within the pages. It didn’t take away from the story in any way either.
The illustrations were of a high standard as usual, and these were what kept both of my daughters’ interest.
Still a nice book to read together as a family though.
