Rachel and Kirsty and their families meet on the ferry, on the way to Rainspell Island for a holiday. The girls are sure they'll have lots of adventures together, especially as Rainspell Island seems almost magical. But when they go on a hunt, the first day, for the end of a rainbow neither of them really expects for find a pot at the end of it. Especially not one with a ruby red fairy trapped inside! And so begin Rachel and Kirsty's adventure to find the seven Rainbow Fairies, banished by the evil Jack Frost, and restore colour to Fairyland.

A lovely story in the series, about 2 little girls on holiday who somehow stumble across a world of magic and fairies! Join them in their quest to find all 7 of the rainbow fairies, and help beat jack frost to bring colour back to fairyland. My 5 year old daughter loves these stories!

My daughter is an early reader nearly 6 year old and this book was at the perfect level for her.  She loves anything princessey or fairy related so this was right up her street.  Two little (human) girls find a lost fairy and are asked to find her other rainbow sisters.  So they rescue Ruby in this book and get turned into fairies for a while on the way - surely every little girl's dream!!  We are looking forward to reading some more of this series.

This series of books is great for newly confident readers. My 5 year old daughter has been totally engrossed since we discovered them. There is just the right amount of text and pictures to keep her interested.
