Lily and Blue Kangaroo are inseparable. Whatever Lily does, Blue Kangaroo does too. But Lily is not always fair, and when she is naughty it is Blue Kangaroo who gets the blame.
One day Lily is very bad indeed, and Blue Kangaroo is taken away from her and placed on a shelf downstairs until he learns to behave... But will he?
In the middle of the night Blue Kangaroo hops down from the shelf, draws a special picture saying `sorry' and slips it under Lily's mum's door. Lily's Mum wants to know who drew the lovely picture. And Lily whispers, `It was you, Blue Kangaroo!'

We really loved this book. Lily has a Blue Kangaroo. They are best friends and love each other very much.  Lily and Blue Kangaroo always play together too but when Lily is naughty and her mummy asks who did it Lily always says "It was you, Blue Kangaroo." Poor Blue Kangaroo gets blamed for everything. So when mummy has to punish someone who will she choose. This is such a beautiful story with a lovely life lesson and a surprise ending. We liked it so much we are going to read more in the Blue Kangaroo series.

Lily keeps on doing naughty things (puts a bucket on her brother's head in the sand pit / dresses up the cat such that she startles it and it pulls down the curtains in the lounge / deliberately messes up her bedroom) and when mummy gets cross, she blames her silent toy kangaroo. Lily is upset when mummy says the "naughty" kangaroo must be kept in another room, and she cries herself to sleep. Over night the toy designs an "I'm sorry" card and puts it under mummy's door.... and the next day the friends are reunited and Lily is resolved not to be so naughty. Good book for talking about consequences / difference between doing something deliberately and it being an accident / taking blame / telling the truth / and how someone else feels (how does kangaroo feel when Lily blames him) etc? So good content for a rising 3 yr old.

I read this to my little man who is still quite young. The story is about Lily, who is stretching the patience of her nearest and dearest! And blue kangeroo helps in taking steps of kindness to help his friend who has been silly all day.

The story is written in sort of verses that can have a rhythm, which is good for keeping such a small guy interested, as you end up becoming quite animated. He also liked the pictures! It is a lovely little story that isn't too long either.

My daughter was very excited to read and review this book! She loved the character 'blue kangaroo' and enjoyed looking at the illustrations. It is a lovely story about A girl who does naughty things but blames her teddy! My daughter understood the lesson in the book and loved the happy ending. Would recommend.

Fab! Read to my 3 year old grandson who quickly cottoned on to what Lily was doing pointing to Blue Kangaroo to lay the blame for her mishaps.  I asked him who was being 'naughty' in the story and he was on Lily's side and it was always Blue Kangaroo! Loved the twist at the end making Blue Kangaroo 'real' which meant we had to read the book again from the start armed with this new exciting information! We shall be returning to this often. A lovely book

This is a story about a little girl who does lots of naughty things and blames it on her toy kangaroo. My daughter loved the idea of blaming a toy when she did bad things, although she felt very bad for Blue Kangaroo! I, personally found Lily far too naughty for my liking!
