Wow I'm so excited about this book! It is so interesting and my boys already love it! Lots of facts about  different players and a quiz at the end to see what you can recall.  One of the girls in my class is borrowing over half term! I love the map at the end too! It is just perfect for ks2! Well written and illustrated!

I liked how there s a thing that s a fing and it likes custard creams. The characters are very good and the little girl were very bossy and quite funny. It was like an adventure because the little girl  forced her dad to go to the forest to find a fing . The illustrations are very good Tony Ross is amazing at drawing and sketching.

This is a wonderful book. I would give it 7 stars if I could. The stories of the fifty true football heroes are inspiring and touching at the same time. The illustrations and the cartoons add a lot of charm to the real life stories. The quotations are very motivating. The star stats and the key facts about the player at the beginning of each story gives a brief snapshot right at the beginning of the story. My favourite part was the quotations. There is a nice Football School birthday calendar and Star Players quiz at the end of the book. I would recommend this book to both football fans and non-fans.

Loved how this book explained football to youngsters and the pictures too. Aswell as current football stars it included retro ones such as diego maradona so abit of history involved aswell. My son absolutely loved this book ideal for pre teen boys.

These books are very popular in the school library.  This is the first one that I have personally read though.  I actually found it very interesting.  Lots a fun illustrations throughout and little snip bits of information, quotes and jokes which makes it very attractive to reluctant readers.  Within the book they also include female players and I was very pleased to see the Welsh footballer Gareth Bale.  Each player has 4 pages dedicated to them so if someone really doesn't like reading they could just pick out their favourite players.  At the back of the book is a quiz, based on all the information with in the book.  There is also a calendar showing all of the footballers birthdays, interestingly not one of them was born in August or November!  There is also a map of Europe and one of the rest of the world showing where all the players come from.  A very good book for young or reluctant readers with an interest in football.

I really like this book. I learned lots of interesting thing that I told my parents about. I liked that there were pictures included, just like their other book that I read. I was surprised to see a woman included in the all stars. I wasn't expecting that! The quiz at the end was fun.

Another great read from the "Football School" series.  This takes us on a whistle stop tour of 50 of the greatest players/football heroes from around the world - and not just your obvious ones.  I'm thrilled to see that it also includes female players as well as "old school" characters spanning the last century - when it would have been really easy to just cherry pick modern players that would be more well known .  With tons of fab illustrations and a quiz at the end there is something here for everyone (even if they're not massive football fans).
