We loved reading this together, firstly guessing as many modes of transport as we could then discovering we had missed so many!  It's full of fun, imaginative ways to travel.

Great fun book, well laid out with fun illustrations.  Easy for my daughter to read alone but fun for us to explore together (I've learn t a lot from it too!)

This book is fabulous in many ways; illustrations, history, exploring transport, sharing with children, or for children to browse through independently. The hardback format gives the book a great superior quality, a book that will last for many years to come. I love the square shape of the books, but children really drawn in by the full pages illustrations and some of the more unusual forms of transport. Fabulous.

I really like this book! Particularly the page on space. I took it into my class to show them the book, and we discussed all the ways we used to travel in the past and thought of fun ways we could travel in the future! I like the pictures and how every one of the 80 ways is explained! This book made me excited about different ways we can travel!

I love all the different pictures and the funny ways you would never usually think about to travel. I found it interesting to see ways of travel I have never been. The pictures are great to guide you through and the book is very bright.

This gorgeous, illustrated non-fiction book lives up to its title and presents eighty different forms of transport in the most appealing fashion.

Each double-page is fully illustrated with a sumptuous background picture and anything from one to five forms of transport, all beautifully drawn in a simple but detailed fashion. The pictures are arranged thematically, for example bicycle, motorbike, tandem and unicycle are together one one page. Accompanying each picture is a paragraph of informative text of the usual high quality that you would expect from a DK book. The colourful drawings are hugely appealing for any age from Reception class upwards; I could spend hours looking at the details. My personal favourite is the hot air balloon page which explains how they work, what the Montgolfier brothers put in their balloon’s basket and what sort of journeys can be accomplished by this form of transport. The artwork is so enticing that I could almost be persuaded to take a balloon trip!

The text is probably not accessible for most KS1 readers, I think that younger children would most enjoy sharing this book with an adult. However, Katy Halford’s illustrations are of such high quality that KS2 readers will enjoy this book, additionally I can imagine that it will be beneficial for many EAL pupils who are improving the depth of their English vocabulary.

Overall, a first class, highly informative book which I recommend for any home or school library.

Thank you to Toppsta.com and DK Books for sending me this book to review.

This is a pretty brilliant book for children. Ranging from ancient forms of transport up to space travel it covers many different situations including up mountains, in parks, down rivers and across the sky. Each of the 80 forms of transport is accompanied by at least one short paragraph and some expanded on a double page. Great for exploring transportation and habitat topics especially for when discussing adaptation to traverse the environment. My two siblings have enjoyed looking through this, with my 5 year old enjoy  facts she has discovered and 2 year old building her vocabulary.
