The second book in the wickedly funny series for ages six and up from the creator of Where Bear? , Pass It On and the Pom Pom series, with colour illustrations throughout.
Hi! I'm Jeanie - 7 3/4 years old, and a BIG fan of badges.
BAD NANA is one of my three grandmas (yes, three). Of course, "Bad Nana" isn't actually her actual name - but it's what everyone has been calling her for MILLIONS of years. If I had MY way, I would call her "Fun Nana", because she is actually brilliant. Yes, she's a bit NAUGHTY sometimes, but in an EXCELLENT way.
My Dad says she really should know better, but I think she's so bad, she's GOOD!

The second instalment in the wickedly funny series, from superstar author and illustrator Sophy Henn

WOW! This book was incredible. It was a really easy read, yet funny and entertaining! I enjoyed having a little break from big thick books and settled down to get lost! The illustrations are beautiful, I love the colour scheme that they chose and the funny little details that the illustrator had added in to every page!!

This is a funny book about Jeanie and her nana that her family call 'Bad Nana' (but they really cant remember why!).  The fair has arrived in town at last, Jeanie and her friends, Marcy and Wilf are going, and so is Nana!  They each enter at competition and REALLY hope to win!  Bad Nana is being mischievous...she's going to prank Mrs Farquar-Haha!!

I really enjoyed the first Bad Nana but I think this is even better.  The story is hilarious.  I love Sophy's use of really bright, vibrant colours in the illustrations that contrast with bold black lines.  Although I am probably much older than the average reader, I still find it great fun!  She uses lots of different fonts , sizes and CAPITALS for emphasis which makes reading interesting.

I really love it that Sophy writes and draws characters with glasses and she is one of few authors that feature diverse characters.

I recommend for readers aged 7+.

We love the bright colours, different types of writing and the layout of this book.
Chapters are a great length and lots of fun illustrations and pictures.
Jeanie is the main character and tell the readers all about herself at the start of the books.
Bad nana who name isn’t bad lives the closest to them and she is funny, naughty and always had biscuits.
The book is full of bright, fantastic and cool illustrations.
Pages are well presented and is fun to read.
Quite a difficult book for my 7 year old to manage herself to read. She is trying to understand some of the book but didn’t understand sarcasm or 12 times table. Definitely a book for her to read and continue with she is already asking for the next book.

Bad Nana and All the Fun of the Fair is a funny and lighthearted book which will amuse and delight young children, and any adults who happen to be reading to them! The plot centres around a little girl called Jeanie (aged 7 3/4), her friends and family, and the impish and much-loved Bad Nana, and follows them on their day at the local village fete as competitions a-plenty give rise to some rather biased judging and absolute havoc when Bad Nana decides to give the bad judge her comeuppance.

There are bold illustrations on every page of the book, and the strong outlines and super-bright (mostly pink) colours will appeal to a lot of youngsters. Having so many pictures alongside the text really helped my daughter to follow what was happening in the story, and to visualise the characters.

Unfortunately there are several words missing from various points in the book, which the publishers haven't picked up in proofreading, which is especially annoying when the book is aimed at young readers. Sometimes the grammar in the writing isn't great either, which is why this one has lost a couple of stars from us.

My four year old says: "I liked it when Bad Nana got her own back on the baddies."

Overall a pleasant and engaging read, written from a child's perspective, and accompanied by some fab illustrations. But please improve the grammar and correct the missing words in future editions!
