Welcome to Baker Street Academy, where there's always a mystery to
be solved! Told through Watson's diary, a top-secret detective
dossier and energetic comic-strip illustrations, this introduction
to Arthur Conan Doyle's classic characters will have every young
super-sleuth hooked!

I read it myself (an adult) & to Sindy aged 11 aged 11

I loved the style of the story, the way it’s pieced together through different media: John’s narration and blog entries, drawings and speech bubbles, news reports and school notices. It made the storytelling really varied and exciting. The art was spot on: it really captured the characters traits in their facial expressions and brought the story to life.

While this is for younger readers, I felt there were little nods to older readers there too, with lots of Sherlock references that adults could enjoy even if the kids might not get them all. It was fun to see the characters in a different kind of setting, and I liked that Martha was part of the team too, not just Sherlock and Watson. The mystery was interesting and actually had me fooled with its red herring, so I was very impressed by that! It’s a complex mystery but not so much that younger readers can’t get their heads around it.

This is a fast paced, fun and really visual story, and one that’s sure to entertain younger and older reader alike. A must read for any budding young detectives, especially ones with Sherlock fans for parents!

A laugh out-loud mystery with witty characters and plenty to get you thinking!
I particularly loved the variety in layout of this book. There are some comic-style pages, emails, postcards and plenty of illustrations. The action is fast-paced and I think children 7 and up would enjoy this book. Many would be able to read it independently and as a Year 3 teacher, I can't wait to put this book in my classroom library!

This is the second Baker Street Academy book and it's as good as the first, the story is quite fast paced and fun to read, the text is nice and bold which I really like. It's full of mystery and crime solving just as you would expect from Sherlock Holmes. The characters are great and make want to read this book.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were interesting and the story was exciting. I liked the pictures and the things like newspaper articles and websites. I thought they might make it harder to read but they made it more fun. I really want to read the other Baker Street Academy book now.

My 6 year old daughter enjoyed having this book read to her. She liked the characters and the different illustrations kept her engaged and asking questions. It is funny and fast paced. It has mystery and problems to solve. It is the first book we have read by this author so will now be looking for others.

This is the second book in the new Sherlock Holmes Baker Street Academy series by Sam Hearn and continues to test the skills of junior sleuths. The story kept us entertained, and packed with doodles, jokes and detective notes, this book will appeal to even the most reluctant of readers.

Storyline was great and the characters were fun to get to know. The illustrations helped the book to come alive. A little bit too fast paced for my son at the moment, but I think it may be that my 6 yo enjoys pondering and meandering!

I liked the book because I am a fan of mysteries. I think it was good because it had exciting parts, adventurous parts, mysterious parts and spooky parts. Sherlock is a bit of a show off and always has an answer that he thinks right. I like the pictures, they make the story easy to read and more exciting. I would definitely recommend it for people who like spooky things (a bit like Scooby Doo)
