John Watson has barely settled into his new school, Baker Street
Academy, when his teacher Ms De Rossi announces a trip to one of
London's top museums, home to the Alpine Star, the world's most famous
jewel.

But the gem has been stolen - from right under their noses! The police
are soon on the trail and the whole of the country is talking
about the crime.

When police catch the thief along with the stolen gem, it seems the
case is closed. But Sherlock Holmes has other ideas. With John
and Martha at his side, can he uncover the mystery behind this extraordinary
gem?

Told through Watson's blog, detective notes, school assignments,
media reports, and energetic comic-strip illustrations, this introduction
to Arthur Conan Doyle's classic characters will have every
young super-sleuth hooked!

This book is fully illustrated and is a part graphic novel/ part comic book style. It was great fun to read with subtle references to the original Sherlock Holmes story. A great introduction into Sherlock Holmes and we'd highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. A interesting spin on the Sherlock Holmes story told in the perspective of Watson. I like how modern it was but still had links into the real story. The liquorice pipe. The hat and cloak. The pictures were also interesting to look at as well and the story was well written.

I really liked this book because I like a good mystery.  It is a good story, Sherlock can tell you everything about an object just by looking at it! I also liked the other main character in the book; John, as he likes writing stories and I do too.  My favourite bad guy is James Moritay because he is one of the bad boys at their school.  This novel is easy to read and there are lots of nice pictures mixed in with the story.

I liked the front cover of this book and I like at the start Of The book, it gives you pictures Of The characters. Tells you who they are and a bit about them. I liked how the book was set out like A comic, with the speech bubbles. There were black and white illustrations throughout the Book, and it was easy to read. It's fast paced and adventurous. There was lots of jokes and it was a very enjoyable read.

This is a great book and a great way to introduce Sherlock Holmes to a new generation, this book gives a modern twist, but there is still plenty of references to the original stories. The author uses different styles of writing from comic book to newspaper articles and great story telling, this book has a nice pace and you find yourself racing along with Watson and Holmes eager to solve the mystery.

I loved this book! I thought it was such a clever idea to place Sherlock Holmes in the present and have him at Baker Street Academy.

The book is set from Watson's point of view and we are introduced to Baker Street Academy and Sherlock through him.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interactive nature of the illustrations, they provided a feeling of being on the case yourself and actually belonging to this gang of super sleuths. That is something i can honestly say i really like about the book!

I enjoyed the story, it was fun and very engaging, so much so i managed to solve the crime before the end of the book!! Kudos to me. :-)

More than easy enough to read in one sitting, this book is a delight to read and you will not want to put it down until the mystery has been solved. I will be adding more Baker Street Academy books to my collection as soon as they come out!

This book is very different to the ones I normally read.  I really enjoyed reading all about Sherlock Holmes and would definitely read more books about him again.  The story was exciting and I wanted to keep reading to the end to find out if they found the missing jewel.  I found the book funny and it really kept my attention.  I will read it again.

This book is really good, if you like surprises then this is the book for you! This is the first of Sherlocks adventures.
My favourite character is Sherlock Holmes, he knows everything. The book has parts that are a bit like a comic book and some good pictures. My brother age 9 read it as well and he really enjoyed it.
