Combining playful photography of Nadiya and her children with vibrant illustrations by Clair Rossiter, this is a glorious celebration of the joy of sharing food and stories.

This is a lovely book. It is written by Nadiya Hussain of 'Bake Off' fame who now has a lot of her own cookbooks. In this book she shares two stories and two recipes that are linked. The first is the story of the hen who made bread and she accompanies this with a lovely recipe for Orange and Blueberry Soda Bread. Then there is another story about the ' Elves and the Choux Maker' and a lovely salmon recipe to go with it. There is lots of help and guidance at the start of the book about how children can stay safe when baking. The book also contains some fun games at the end including a word search and spot the difference pictures. We really enjoy baking together as a family so loved the idea of having recipes linked to stories. We haven't tried to make the recipes yet but will definitely be making the bread soon. We loved the two stories and the colourful illustrations on each page. A great idea for a book!

I really enjoyed this book and liked the way that the recipes and stories were linked.
I am looking forward to making one of the recipes, but I can’t decide which one yet!
I would like to read more of Nadiya’s recipes and stories.

This is a lovely little book with two very entertaining stories which both of my children really enjoyed listening to. ‘The Little Red Hen and her Bread Friends’ and ‘The Elves and the Choux Maker’ are both modern takes on traditional stories and my children really liked them. They were even more delighted that the bread and the curry recipes from the stories were included in the book too so we’re all looking forward to trying those out at the weekend.

I read Nadiya's Bake me a Story with my mum before I went to bed.  I like the stories especially the twist Nadia puts on them the Elves and the chouxmaker was especially funny.
I liked Nadiya in the bake off and have had her chicken curry before so I can't wait to cook the recipe in the book.

Lovely book with a couple of stories linking in with a recipe. My child is a very fussy eat so would have been nice to see a couple of plain recipes - or something easier for a 6 year old to be more hands on making. Lovely illustrations through out the book - lovely concept

Having not read any of Nadiya's cookery books before, this story-recipe book combo came as a pleasant surprise. The World Book Day offering includes two fun short stories with lovely illustrations, as well as two recipes, plus puzzles.
Both of the recipes are for 'clever cooks' – one for beginner cooks may have made the book more accessible. Half the book has a festive theme, too, which seems odd considering the book comes out in March (the recipe is taken from Bake Me a Festive Story).
My son (age 4) enjoyed reading the stories and completing the puzzles. A thumbs-up for the design and glossy photography too. I'm not sure we'll attempt the recipes, even though we love to cook.

This book was a nice surprise having a story as well as the recipe to go with it. Definitely a way to get kids more engaged in cooked. Although this book was great I really don't think my kids would like the recipes which ate in it.if would be nice if was few more recipes in it to cater for different children food tastes and ages. It's a very good idea though and we enjoyed reading the book.

I read this with Finn. We enjoyed the stories and the illustrations were lovely. Although we haven’t yet tried the recipes it has inspired us to start doing more cooking together again and will be trying the bread recipe. It’s a really good concept and I think we will invest in the full book for more story and cooking adventures. Finn also enjoyed the puzzles in the book which were perfect for his age.
