With her irresistible urge to tell a joke in every situation - even when she really, really shouldn't - twelve-year-old Jacky Ha-Ha loves to make people laugh. And cracking wise helps distract her from thinking about not-so-funny things in her life, like her mom serving in a dangerous, faraway war, and a dad who's hardly ever home.

But no matter how much fun Jacky has, she can't seem to escape her worries. So one starlit night, she makes a promise to keep her family together... even if she has to give up the one thing that makes her happy. But can she stop being Jacky Ha-Ha, if that's who she really is?

A great book full of all the best kind of humour! I greatly enjoyed reading Jacky Ha Ha for it had you interested from the first page. Comically perfect with the perfect amount of jokes. Jacky's story is wildly relatable to all audiences. Simple yet effective Jackys story is one I enjoyed reading for it brought a smile to my face.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Mr. Patterson has been a long time favorite of mine, but with joy I can say he has now crossed over as a favorite author in this household to my 10 yr old daughter and 9 yr old son. As an already committed fan, I purchased this book with enthusiasm for my own Jackie. I was sure the title and the relatable home state of NJ would engage her. Well, that was an understatement. We received the book on a Sunday and by Tuesday my daughter was (without persuasion) 27 chapters deep into the book! As a mom that encourages reading constantly to keep up with the rigid new demands of school required book logs, seeing her reading so enthusiastically, made me so PROUD! Happy to say that her eagerness and excitement about the book caught on with her curious younger brother. During our normal bedtime reading routine, he was just as engaged as she read out loud. Neither of the 2 wanted the reading to end.

I must admit Jacky is a very likable character and Mr. Patterson's reading style had me captivated too, especially as Jacky and her best friend Meredith stroll the Seaside Heights boardwalk and describe some of my favorite foods. yummmmm

Funny, relatable, modern, descriptive, heart felt, Jacky Ha-Ha is all of that and then some. Give your young reader the wonderful opportunity to discover what is underneath the surface of Jacky's clownish ways. I truly believe it will be an enjoyable, page turning adventure.

I loved this book - it's one of the funniest books I've ever read. It's appealing for children who like family stories, probably girls around ages 9-11 years.
It's a bit like diary of a wimpy kid but a girl version instead!
I have read other James Patterson books - all of the middle school books which I enjoyed too but this is deffo my favourite book.
Buy it & read it!

My daughter is loving this book.  So much so that she has already almost finished it and she only started it 3 nights ago.  This is the perfect book for 8-9 year old girls.  It has completely captivated her and I see her smiling and hear her laughing whilst reading it, so we would thoroughly recommend it.

I loved this book because it was very funny. Jacky's mum is serving in the army in Saudi Arabia and her dad is a lifeguard , leaving her and her 6 sisters at home a awful lot. I truly recommend all of James Patterson's books

Jacky Ha Ha is the class clown, who loves to make other people laugh so they dont laugh at her, but underneath it all is a young girl with a lot of worries. This was a really good book which we enjoyed very much

Jacky ha ha always has to tell a joke, even when something is the opposite of funny. She promises to keep her family safe, but does this mean having to be serious?... I absolutely loved this book and found it really funny. There were pictures but it is still a quite long book. I would recommend it to ages 10+.I think anyone who likes James Patterson would love this book.

I found this a very funny book. It is about a girl called Jacky Hart. She is hilarious!

Jacky, (on the first day of school) gets twenty detentions. Then the principal says that Jacky doesn't have to have detentions but she has to act in the play You're a good man Charlie Brown. Jacky doesn't want to act in the play but she doesn't want to have any detentions.
So she chooses to act in the play.
Jacky has six sisters. (Although I can't remember most of their names.
Jacky mainly tells jokes because she wants to forget that her dad is always working late and that her mum is fighting in a war.

I enjoyed reading this a lot. I read it in a few goes because I was so engrossed. Jacket Ha-Ha is a very likeable character and I warmed to her immediately despite her silly and sometimes reckless attitude. She's one of the seven Hart sisters and her mum is away serving in the Marines. She keeps getting detentions until the Principal makes a deal with her which turns her life around. Plus her dad is spending too much time with another woman.

My daughter enjoyed reading this book and said it was very funny. She really thought the characters were funny and made sense apparently!
I'd say it's best suited for 8-10 year olds.

This is a really fun book with lots of detail. It was really interesting and made me laugh. My favourite character is Jacky, she has a lot of problems in her life, this made it relatable to real life. The story is very funny and is all about family life. It has a nice tone and I really enjoyed it
