Rafe Khatchadorian is getting the Hollywood treatment in a film version of Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life starring Griffin Gluck, Lauren Graham, Rob Riggle and Thomas Barbusca.

In this seventh Middle School episode, Rafe heads back to the place his misadventures began: the dreaded Hills Village Middle School, where he's now being forced to take 'special' classes... He also finds himself joining the school's football team - alongside his main tormenter, Miller the Killer!

But Rafe has grand plans for a better year: First, he decides to start a super-secret art project that's sure to rock the school. Then, if Rafe manages to make a play to save his team, he might have to deal with something completely new: popularity!

Introducing Rafe Khatchadorian.  It's Rafe's story, told by Rafe.  It's fast and funny; he does daft things, he worries...alot.  He worries that he's dumb, he worries that Miller (the Killer) is going to bully him mercilessly for the rest of his Middle School days, he worries about what people think.  But he figures it out.  He figures it out in a good way.  By the end he has found friendship, belonging and happiness and I couldn't be more pleased!
I'll admit this is the first of James Patterson's Middle School books I've read ...and I liked it.  I think it would appeal to readers who loved Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Liz Pichon's Tom Gates books.  I love the illustrations and the additional dimension they bring to Rafe's stream of consciousness.  Give it a go...and the bonus is, when you find you enjoy it, there are more in the series to read too!

My favourite character in this book is Flip, he is funny and great at making up stuff! The story is fun and set in middle school. There are lots of middle school books but not all the characters are in each.

There are great illustrations and comic book pictures.

I have enjoyed all the books from the middle school series that I have read so far, and this one is no different. Rare is back at middle school, As a special education student, as he needs some extra help. He ends up joining the football team so he isn't bullied, where he ends up a star, and he gets to show off his great art skills in this book. Rafe is a really likeable character , and the whole book was fun, entertaining and very enjoyable. There are lots of funny jokes, and I enjoy the black and white illustrations throughout the book. I liked that with the help of his imaginary friend, Rafe found a way to deal with the bullies.

I was really excited to get this book as I wanted to read one of the Middle school books. I liked this book but it took me quite a long time to read as I was reading it myself. I would recommend it to other children of my age or older.

This is an awesome book in the Middle School series. Rafe joins the school football team and he scores three touchdowns and becomes famous in his school and he makes an amazing website about being kind and he secretly puts up pictures around the school. I like the doodles throughout the book and I would recommend this book to other people aged 10 plus.

Mum's review - not so sure about this series and I find it really difficult explaining all the americanisms but the boys seem to enjoy reading the books.
