Kitty finds herself saying 'Why not?' all the time and it makes her even more cross when they simply say 'Because'. 'Why can't I walk to school on my own?' 'Because.' 'Why can't I go trick-or-treating?' 'Because.' Kitty wishes they'd give her a proper answer! But soon she discovers that sometimes a compromise is the best answer of all.
