Everything around you is made up of materials. We use materials to make objects such as tables and chairs, shoes and clothes, cars and aircraft. This book looks at how materials can be mixed and separated. When two materials are mixed together they can be separated by sieving, filtering, skimming or by evaporation. But when some materials are mixed together they cannot be separated because the materials have changed forever.
