"Noisy Neighbours": George likes peace and quiet, but his neighbour Harriet rides a noisy motorbike and Louis plays the trumpet. They work out a rota for noisy and quiet days. "Just in Time": George completes a crossword with a bit of help from his friends, and then Harriet rushes him to the newspaper office on her motorbike so he can enter the crossword competition. The "I Am Reading" series provides just the right balance of challenge and support for newly independent readers. Large, easy-to-read type, satisfying stories by top writers and cheerful full-colour pictures help children make the transition from picture books to chapter books. Each book includes a bookmark flap, tips for beginner readers and either short, numbered chapters or two short stories.
