Fasten your seat belts and get ready to zoom through the history of transport and discover incredible facts about all kinds of vehicles along the way.

Every day, all over the world, people are busy travelling - short  hops or great, long voyages, moving slowly and steadily or racing  along at super-fast speeds. They make their trips in cars, trains,  planes, ships and on bikes - and some people even blast off in rockets!

Make your own amazing transport journeys as you explore timelines and discover the people and stories behind the machines that keep the world moving. Take a twist or turn and find out what happened when the Freedom 7 blasted into space, race your way through Japan at lightning speed on the awesomely fast bullet train, set sail on a Viking longship and let the wind carry you away in a hot-air balloon with the Montgolfier brothers.

With wonderfully intricate illustrations from Chris Mould, Amazing Transport tells the story of some of science's most recognisable inventions in a way you've never seen before. Prepare yourself for the journey of a lifetime.

This book is fabulous and is full of wonderful illustrations. My twin boys asked lots of questions whilst we were reading this book. They especially liked the ship section.

This is a lovely big hardback book. It details the different types of transport through time. As the writing is quite small I think it is more suited to upper key stage 2 children. I really like the illustrations all of which have details about that particular transport. I also like the different timeline for each section to show how each piece of transport evolved through time. It is a fantastic book in the study of transport and I will continue to use it in class when I cover this topic. It has also opened my eyes to as how long transport has been around!

This book arrived on my doorstep today and I couldn't wait to sit down with my children and have a look at it. It's a large hardback book with loads of gorgeous illustrations on the front which are carried on throughout the book. Each section of the book includes very detailed and very fun illustrations, showing the evolution/timeline of that mode of transport. They also include more detailed information without overloading you with too much! My favourite sections are on the ships and balloons!

I really liked this book. It is excellent.  It shows how transport evolved and I really liked how the drawings show you this. They do it through things like train tracks and roads. In each section, there are two pages with lots of detailed, funny, illustrations and then the next two pages tell you interesting facts about a few of the boats or cars or bikes or whatever. My favourite sections were Ships and More Ships. I liked the funny eyed whales and the boats themselves. The only thing was there were no monster trucks, or trucks at all, which was odd.

This wonderful timelines book shows all the transport we use today (and without the invention of the wheel that dates back to 3500s BC we couldn’t make cars.) It is also separated in different sections that are colour coded. I like how all the timelines are cleverly drawn so I can spot where each of the inventions are. My favourite section is about ships because there is a lot of history I didn’t know.

My son found this book very interesting and enjoyable. He loves random facts.
The book details every type of transport you can think of and goes through how it has developed over the years with time lines.
The book is text dense so an early reader would need assistance and the font is small.
The illustrations are nice but not particularly colourful.

This is a great book for children interested in types of transport and the developments over the years.

This book is full of facts and takes you through a timeline of the history of transport.
It is laid out in a repetitive manner with a timeline for each vehicle followed by more in depth facts on the next page, which although my Son loved the facts, he found the layout of the book receptive and lost his interest.
There are lovely illustrations throughout the book all in black and white and the timeline page is over cluttered with pictures which meant my Son didn't know where to look.
Saying all that I think this is a book that we will dip in and out of and will be a great reference book for school projects etc as it is crammed full of facts.
My Son was so excited when he got this book initially but sadly it didn't quite live up to his expectations.

This is an interesting book full of facts about various transport - tanks, rockets, ships, balloons, bikes, trains, cars and so on. Each section has a double page full of all the transport to do with the chosen transport. These pages were my son's favourite. He really liked how he could compare the same type of transportation with each other visually. After the double page drawing, the next two pages have all the transport in chronological order and has facts under each one. This is where it got tricky- these pages, although very interesting, the text was small and definitely didn't suit a 7 year old. I'd let a 9+ year old read this on their own, but below that the child will need an adult to help. (Hence why 4 stars and not 5 stars given.) It's a good book for any transport mad child, but would suit upper juniors rather than lower juniors.  Would be good in a year 5/6 classroom. A clever book that is laid out differently from others so worth checking out.
