Anne of Green Gables follows the spirited orphan as a young girl. From meeting her "bosom friend", to breaking her writing slate over her rival's head and accidentally dying her hair green, Anne meets with plenty of adventures along her way to earning a teaching degree. Anne of Avonlea then follows Anne as teacher in the local school. In addition to her efforts to make her mark by forming the Avonlea Village Improvement Society, Anne also finds herself helping to raise orphans in the shape of twins Davy and Dora.
