Thanks to NetGalley for providing a review copy in return for an honest review.

Escape from Planet Bogey is a great addition to the Pet Defender series following Attack of the Alien Dung and Beards from Outer Space. My boys (aged 4 and 9) love the slapstick humour and there are plenty of poo and snot references to keep most little ones (and some big ones) chuckling! The chapters are short and snappy which means they are perfect for reading aloud to younger children or for more confident readers to tackle on their own. It's great to see a series of books which are clearly written for young children in mind. Some adults might shy away from poo and snot references but these are the kind of things that many young kids find fascinating and tend to laugh about. When you couple this with talking cats and dogs and secret spies you've hit upon a recipe for success. A fab series from Gareth P Jones, with great illustrations from Steve May.

Our first book from the Pet Defender series but my son loved it. Obviously the references to poo and snot were a great hit and the book really does have some laugh out loud moments.  Nice and short chapters allows you to pick up the storyline easily and is great for reading to children or for those who are learning to read.  Highly recommended.

I love this book! It was really funny with lots of good characters. It is a good chapter book, with missions, adventure and mystery. The main characters are a cat and a dog so it would be good for animal lovers. I would like to read others in this series and I think other kids my age would enjoy this.

This is great fun - Lucas and I read this together - he thought it was really funny that a creature could "sneeze" on something and they'd be transported to another planet via a big bogey stream!  Meanwhile who knew that pets had such an important role in protecting earth from aliens.
This book really is packed full of fun ideas and because the "stars" are a cat and dog it doesn't seem too preposterous.
Great fun

I loved this book! It was so funny! My favourite character was Mitsy because I like cats.  Crisp sees a planet with loads of monsters ( planet bogey) and one sneezed on him and then he was back at earth again.
I think other children like 5 or 6 should read it because I think the book is a good book!
