Dr Seuss books are full of craziness and wonderful creatures to enthral any child.  This book is super for an early reader too, my five year old really enjoyed reading this to me, with plenty of easy to read sentences and repetition.
She loved exploring the quirky creatures on each page with wonderful fun illustrations.
The early reader Dr Seuss books are a wonderful entry into child led reading, fun enough to keep their interest but not too challenging to turn them off.

This is one of Leo's favorite Dr. Seuss books and he loves this edition with it's big, colourful illustrations. It's a great book for early readers with lots of simple words that he can mostly read by himself now. He really enjoys the repetition as Sam-I-am pesters the grumpy grouch and loves when his persistence pays off. He especially likes when I read the story quickly.

My husband thought this wouldn't interest my son but was very surprised how much he loved the story, all the great rhyming, weird creatures and the repeated words and sentences kept him giggling loads, a great book my son now wants to get the other books to be read at bedtime with mummy or daddy. Definitely a funny book for a wide age range of children I feel. Can't wait to read more of these books

Molly hasn't been reading by herself very long but this book was perfect due to all the repetition. She loved the fact that the whole way through the story he was saying he didn't like green eggs and ham but once he tried them he loved them! 'I do not like them here or there, I do not like them anywhere! I do not like green eggs and ham! I do not like them Sam I am!'

I loved this book as I really like the adventure that they go on.  My favourite character is Sam I am.  The story is really funny with all the places he tries to make him try the green eggs and ham.

Green Eggs and Ham 9780007355914

This is a fast paced story with lots of amazing and wacky rhymes. With ever increasingly bizarre combinations of rhymes, Sam tries to persuade another creature to try green eggs and ham - Sam's insistence and perservance on the matter is annoying in the extreme to the creature who is being subjected to it. There is a surprising and delightful twist ar the end, which has some sort of suitable message for people who *think* they know their own mind. Well worth a read.

I used to read this book all the time to my daughter and now she's grown out of it we've passed it on to my nephew.
Reading this book with him was brilliant.  He loved the pictures, the rhymes and that because I have read it so many times he was covering my eyes while I 'read' it.
Nothing like Dr. Seuss to bring out the child in any adult.  A great book to share.

Green Eggs and Ham 9780007355914

One of my favorite Dr Seuss stories. It is the classic story of a man that will not eat green eggs and ham because he thinks he doesn't like them. After quite a trip he decides to try them to prove to Sam that he doesn't like them. It turns out they are delicious and he loves them. This book helps at dinner time when I'm trying to convince my daughter to try something new.

Great book from Dr Seuss! It's easy for early readers to read and even for parents to read for the kids, it just sounds great with all the rhymes and the way he plays with words. My son loves reading this book together with me, where he reads all the lines from Sam-I-Am. Highly recommended and shows how people shouldn't think they don't like something without even trying it, they might be even love it!

This is my daughter's all time favourite book. The rhyme in each line is so strong and the repetitive language makes it easy for young readers to join in. The story of a child who does not want to try an unfamiliar food is such a familiar theme and one that is particularly relevant in our house. We love reading it together.

I read this to my almost 4 year old tonight. I'd picked it up in a charity shop and knew it was a classic. William loved it, but I'm afraid I found it utterly annoying! I can see how the use of repetition and rhymes helps children learn to read. Chances are your child will love it - just be warned you'll want to shout ' NO he doesn't want green eggs and ham'!
