What do you get the Queen for her birthday? What would she like? A naughty Orangutan to be her butler of course !!!
A really fun read... as you'd expect from David Walliams! And gives me a chance to do my "posh" voice as I try and take-off the Queen ;o)
From a content perspective... you see how the Queen has to sit for portraits, entertain foreign visitors (USA president), meet with the prime minister each week.... and that while she has "mountains and mountains of staff" and people cooking / looking after her... she is "trapped in the palace" and there are downsides to the gig.... an orangutan would certainly mix things up and make it more interesting for her!! My daughter has hit "disney princess" obsession... so knows what a king/queen/princess is... so this book helped to talk about what they do...and introduce her to our royal family in a "silly" way.

A typical humorous tale by Walliams which did not disappoint. I loved the humour in the story as much as the illustrations. The story did not quite hold the attention of our four year old, but our seven year old loved too! A refreshing storyline from the norm. Fab.

Is this a look inside Prince Charles' head whilst he has having one of his worst nightmares ever?

This is a very funny book, I had a good laugh at the prime ministers treatment.

Fantastic drawings as always by Tony Ross.

what do you get the Queen for her birthday? an orang-up and of course. A great story of all the fun mischief the orang-utan butler has in the palace. Lovely, bright and fun illustrations loosely  depicting the royal family.
It's a fun story that I read to my daughter when it first came out, and now starting again with a 2 yr old.

This is a marvellous book. Me and my daughter enjoyed it so much and she found it so funny that the queen was a little bit cheeky. A great read, I enjoyed it a lot aswel. This might become one of our new favourites. The drawings really showed the people’s reactions and the characters well.

The book is in typical Walliams style. Great humour for adults and kids alike with fantastic illustrations by Tony Ross. From an educational stance it's a great way to introduce your child to the Royal Family and the Prime Minister and their roles. It's also a fantastic story about enjoying life and finding the fun in everything you do. My son thoroughly enjoyed this book and so did I.

We found the storyline entertaining; the queen asks for an orangutan as a new butler for her birthday present. The illustrations are wonderful and there were some funny pictures which made my son laugh, like the royal baby sat on the Queen's crown as if it were a potty. My son enjoyed the twist of the organgutan being in the Queen's bed and the humour of the book will entertain parents too.

The Queen decides to have an Orang-Utan as a butler and he gets up to all sorts of high jinks and capers.  Great illustrations and a funny storyline it had my 6 year old laughing out loud.  Very typical David Walliams style of writing.
